PRISM Food Shelf and St. Joseph's have a long history together, with PRISM’s founding roots beginning in 1970 at St. Joseph!
PRISM has wonderful resources to manage ALL emergency funds requests for housing and food assistance. They provide individualized support for addressing each family’s unique situation through their various programs – financial assistance, food shelf, clothing and household, school supplies, holiday and birthdays, employment & budget counseling. Please contact PRISM directly at www.prismmpls.org to find out more.
St. Joseph is a member of PRISM’s Faith Partner Board and contributes financially year-round as a part of the parish tithe. Volunteers from the parish also assist clients in the PRISM food shelf (Market Place) and thrift store (Shop for Change). See below for the wonderful programs offered through out the year.
Emergency Funds Program Every 2nd Sunday of the month, St. Joseph holds an offertory collection for the PRISM Emergency Funds Program to help qualified individuals and families with rent, security deposits for housing, utility bills and other available programs. Food and funds donations are also accepted on an on-going basis and can be placed in the PRISM collection boxes at the Parish Center and the Historic Little Church. Financial donations for "PRISM" can be brought to the Parish Office. Your kindness and generosity helps thousands to eat and get the assistance they need.
Shop for Change Thrift Shop PRISM's thrift store is in huge need of donations and has become increasingly low on lightly used clothes and household items. Please consider donating to PRISM and spreading the word to your family and friends. Word of mouth goes such a long way to support our services.
The more items we can process in our store, the more revenue we can raise for our basic needs programs! The need is more critical than ever as we experience increased costs in purchases for our Marketplace Food Shelf.
Volunteers at PRISM Shop for Change are always needed to sort donations, set up the event, assist with distribution and clean-up. To sign-up to volunteer, please visit www.prismmpls.org/volunteer.
