With joy and heartfelt gratitude, we are proud to share our Pastoral Care Ministry Director, Pat Goetz has been selected as this year’s Mary Mulheron Award recipient—a distinguished honor awarded to a lay ecclesial minister recognizing excellence in pastoral care ministry including faithful service, humble leadership, and a profound impact within the life of the Church.
For more than 20 years, Pat has been a steady and compassionate presence in our parish, serving in the pastoral care ministry and for the past 18 years as an on-call chaplain. Her work is a powerful expression of Christ’s love—bringing comfort to the grieving, presence to the sick, and peace to those in spiritual need.
Pat embodies the mission of Saint Joseph Catholic Community. She is the one who shows up in the quiet moments of suffering, who listens deeply, and who offers the healing presence of Christ to those who need it most. Her ministry has touched the lives of countless individuals and families in our community.
But Pat’s impact goes far beyond her personal care. She has formed and mentored dozens of parishioners through Stephen Ministry, and has coordinated our Eucharistic outreach ministry, ensuring that parishioners who are homebound, hospitalized, or living in care centers remain spiritually connected to the Eucharist and our parish.
Pat also leads our grief support ministries, including a Lenten Renew group and many other small groups which offer a place of hope and healing. Through these ministries, she has helped many navigate life’s transitions with faith and grace.
What makes Pat’s leadership especially inspiring is her continued dedication to spiritual growth. She regularly engages in professional development and spiritual direction, modeling what it means to be a lifelong learner and servant leader rooted in the Gospel. Pat leads, not to draw attention to herself but, to help others discover and share their own gifts. Her legacy is one of empowerment, compassion, and deep faith, and her ministry will continue to bless St. Joseph’s for years to come.
Please join us in congratulating Pat Goetz on this well-deserved recognition. In honoring Pat, we celebrate the very heart of our parish—where faith becomes action, and love becomes service.
