We are called to love our neighbor, whether it be next door or in another country.
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is a non-profit organization that serves the poor and vulnerable around the world. Millions of God’s children flee war, persecution and poverty every day. St. Joseph Catholic Community, Pope Francis, Caritas Internationalis, United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, Catholic Charities USA, and Catholic Relief Services invite you to share their journey by walking with them in prayer and support.
During Lent, we are invited to reflect on our lives and how we can serve others in need. St. Joseph Catholic Community embraces the CRS mission and has created Rice Bowl packs for those who wish to take this encounter with us.
How Can You Serve? It’s easy! Pick up a Rice Bowl at church. Then simply fold the cardboard into the pre-designed Rice Bowl and collect monetary offerings at places such as dinner, church, meetings, faith formation, and youth activities. Include that loose change in your pockets and know that you are creating hope for people in our own diocese and around the world!
Only $1 a Day During Lent Means:
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Rice Bowls
During Lent, CRS Rice Bowls can be picked up at the church. Throughout Lent, place monetary offerings in the Rice Bowl. These may be offerings in place of going out for dinner, spare change in your pocket, a dedicate contribution and make sure you pray for the cause! CRS Bowl donations will be collected during Palm Sunday and Holy Thursday Mass. You may also return them to the Parish Center Office, and know you can give online at any time.
