Mission Trip Overview
The Middle School Mission Trip is a week long experience in which youth serve
God by working in already established ministries in different host cities. This
mission trip works more as a relational ministry which is a different approach
than the High School Workcamps. Both are very effective but each one is unique.
Youth participating in past mission trips have said it was a worthwhile and life
changing experience.
YouthWorks!®?
YouthWorks! Inc.®, is a non-profit corporation, that was created in 1994 by a
youth minister in Minneapolis, MN. With a Christ centered board, guiding a
skilled group of youth workers as staff, it has have seen incredible growth. The
first summer, 35 churches brought over 400 participants to two sites. In 2006,
over 40,000 young people and adult leaders served in 82 sites across the US and
in Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Youth Works mission trips differ from the High School Workcamp experience, in that Youth Works emphasizes relational ministry. Building relationships, trust, and friendship with others are as important as the physical labor we provide. The Middle School mission trips are similar to the High School's in that there are programs and activities to further the faith of the missionaries.
Fundraising
![]() |
There is one major fundraiser for those who are registered for Middle School Mission Trips, our annual Pizza Sale. Each participant is asked to sell twenty Pizzas to friends, family and neighbors. The Pizza sale is also opened up to the Parish. In mid January, all of the missioners and their friends and families, meet on a Saturday morning and spend most of the day making the pizzas that were ordered. On the 20th of January 2007, we made 1,110 pizzas. |
