An Opportunity to Support Survivors of Priest Abuse
We've all been hearing the endless stories about the abuse crisis within the Catholic Church. Many of the Catholics in the pews are feeling angry, frustrated and confused. Many of us want to do something
but don't know what. On Tuesday, July 22 at 7 pm in the chapel at St. Joseph the Worker (7180 Hemlock Ln N, Maple Grove), you will have a unique opportunity to do something positive and constructive for some of the people who have been abused by priests.
Some survivors will share their experiences of abuse, the impact that has has on their lives and their healing process. Although most have had support from spouses, family and friends, they have not had that kind of formal support from the church. On July 22, we can change that
. We - as members of a parish - can listen to their stories, share their pain and show that we care. Being heard - especially by a church that has hurt them - can be restorative and helpful for survivors.
